Omo Oloore Forum To Hold Intercessory Prayers for Amofin Akogun

A Socio-Political group, Omo Oloore Forum has organised an inter-faith prayer session for the President of the BTA Foundation, Amofin Titilope Akogun, in Omu Aran, Irepodun LGA, on Wednesday 3rd July, 2024.

The Group coordinator, Mrs. Halimat Olufadi disclosed this on Tuesday 2nd July, noting that the intercessory prayer is a way of celebrating the BTA President for his continuous inputs in grassroots and human capital development.

Barrister Titilope Akogun, born over three decades ago, is a Nigerian lawyer who is also passionate about philanthropy. He is an Attorney with more than 10 years standing. Akogun was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2014.

The fastest rising Kwara South politician was born in Omu Aran town in Irepodun Local Government Area in Kwara State into the family of Chief Gbenga Joseph. He attended Joeson Nursery and Primary School; Emmanuel Baptist College, Ilorin; and University of Ilorin where he graduated in 2013 with a Second Class Upper degree in Law.

Akogun obtained his Master’s degree (LL.M in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law) at the prestigious University of Sussex, United Kingdom in 2024, and as well qualified as an OISC 2 Immigration Lawyer in the United Kingdom in 2024.

Amofin Titilope Akogun started his Law practice with E.V Uche & Co and later joined Hope Ozegbe & Co., before joining Alfred Darnley and Partners as a Solicitor and Advocate. In 2017, Akogun started his law firm which specializes in the practice of all aspects of corporate, commercial, and financial law.

A product of advanced Grace, who practiced Law in the City of Abuja, before proceeding to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates for advanced international practice experience. In Dubai, UAE, he practiced with Isthishara Legal Consultants in Abu Dhabi, before later joining Teps – Dubai on its management level. He eventually started his conglomerate (Eagleman Group, which consists of Eagleman Legal Specialists, Building Materials, Travel and tours, and Facility maintenance).

He subsequently extended his entrepreneurial tentacles in Nigeria and the United Kingdom where he started KudiHouse Finance Limited, a Bureau De Change and Financial advisory consultancy, Eagleman Motors and also Eagleman Stores Limited).

As a Philanthropist, Akogun’s gesture has been one of unrivaled empathy since 2017 when he established the Foundation, Barrister Titilope Akogun (BTA) Foundation on the 1st of June, to mark his birthday, with the vision to reduce or wipe out poverty in Kwara and Nigeria as a whole, Build the human capital of young people, organize and sponsor skill acquisition opportunities, support ailing businesses, grant educational scholarships and Community development.

Determined that young people and old women must choose their destiny, Titilope works tirelessly with the BTA team to develop best practices. Several interactions with young people in his community are one with anger, frustration, and hopelessness as his people seem helpless with the situation of things in their immediate environment.

A land of hope and latent potentials widely enmeshed with so many poor and incapacitated young people, who strive for greatness, but without any pillar to rest on from expected quarters. One would expect a situation of anger. Titilope started engaging his people and commenced the message of Hope, that things are still possible with the right information and little support, financially and in human capital development. With strong support from both the creative industry and the social impact sector, BTA through his foundation has kept addressing the pressing issues faced by young men and old women most in need on the African continent.

Based on the strong belief that invariably, the government alone cannot actualize the needs and wants of the masses, Akogun has been reaching out to old and young as a non-governmental organization that aims to improve the lives of people in rural and urban communities through various interventions to wit:

1. Mechanized Agricultural Revolution Project (MARP).

2. Igi Iwe intervention (Education Tree) towards enhancing the quality of education for students in 14 schools across different communities, with the awards of scholarships to 52 bright pupils in elementary schools, to support their academic pursuits since 2017.

3. Food materials for the Vulnerable.

4. Operation Safe Water, providing water in different communities and repairs of damaged boreholes.

5. Roads, culverts, and drainages repair and construction in different communities.

6. Human Capacity training of young people.

7. Business Support for market women and traders.

8. Go Corporate initiative: CAC Registration of over 40 Businesses.

Amofin Akogun focuses on dismantling the norms and barriers holding them back and helping them transform their potential into the power to lead healthy, independent, safe, and fulfilling lives.

However, towards the 2019 General election, Akogun who had aspired to represent the Irepodun constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly was demanded to step down for the party’s anointed candidate; an arrangement that was also repeated in the build-up to the 2023 general elections via zoning.

He is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); an erstwhile National Legal Adviser of the Omu Aran Development Association (ODA); the Founding President of Kwara South Youth Development Organization (KWAYORG); a former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the University of Ilorin Students’ Union.

Akogun is happily married to Oluwfishayomi and they are blessed with kids.

Accordig to the Mrs. Olufadi, Akogun’s outreaches and other numerous intervention has touched many and our Forum has decided to offer our prayers to Heaven, to bless him more and continue to grant his heart desires in his future aspirations.

End.
