In the bid to improve agricultural productivity, business, yield and income among the people in the Kwara South Senatorial District for them to be self sufficient and reliant, the BTA Foundation is set to commence a life changing one week intensive training for selected beneficiaries.

Tagged: “Oyinbo Farmer 2024”, the one week training scheme seeks to empower no fewer than 101 beneficiaries with the practical knowledge of branding of Agricultural products, export of Agricultural products, and how to market such goods through social media marketing.

This is one of the numerous programmes, projects and interventions from the stable of the Foundation geared toward improving the living standard of the people of our region and adding values to the welfare and wellbeing of her people.

The President of the Foundation, Barrister Titilope Akogun while briefing on the scheme’s mode of operation said
the training would hold early September and would be handled by experts, while training will be held online and at a physical location.

He said the scheme is open only to residents in Ekiti/Isin/Oke-Ero/Irepodun Federal Constituency of the Kwara South Senatorial District.

According to him, to be eligible you must have a smart phone (Android phone or iPhone or computer) and must be committed to learning.

Akogun described Oyinbo Farmer scheme as a Branding and Export of Agricultural Products Scheme, garnished with Social media marketing training.

“In this Era of mass unemployment, where our young people, Middle aged women, do not even understand how to create a viable business that creates a pathway to financial stability, while others complain of lack of start up capital.

“Oyibo Farmer would open up our insight in the untapped opportunities in the value addition sector of Agriculture in the emerging markets.

“Lots of beneficiaries who put the trainings into practical use, would begin to earn handsomely with little efforts, almost immediately after the training sessions,” he said.

Speaking further, the BTA Foundation President, said the scheme is tailored toward creating jobs for beneficiaries and as well help them begin to create jobs in Kwara South and Kwara State as a whole.

“Beneficiaries could be Graduates, entrepreneurs, market women, farmers, business men and women, but must possess mobile phones that can have internet access for marketing, follow – ups and client engagement and delivery as processing and packaging agricultural products increase their value, creating new revenue streams and opportunities for entrepreneurship.

“This can lead to the creation of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) that employ local workers.

“Oyinbo Farmer Scheme is as well going to teach beneficiaries on Attracting foreign investment: A strong brand reputation for high-quality agricultural products will attract foreign investors, who will establish manufacturing facilities or partnerships with local farmers, creating more job opportunities.
