Amofin Akogun Pays Tribute To Late Senator Rafiu Ibrahim

President of the BTA Foundation, Barrister Titilope Akogun has expressed shock and sadness over the death of a former Senator Representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Sen. Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.

Rafiu, a former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 58.

Amofin Akogun, in a statement through his Media Office, described Sen. Rafiu as one of the finest politicians Nigeria has produced in recent times, saying his death comes as a shock to many.

“The news of the death of Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim left me in utter shock and deep sorrow. Indeed, there is never a good time to lose a loved one, but Senator Rafiu’s passing at this time is, for me, most unfortunate and painful.”

He went ahead to extol the qualities of the late Financial expert and the impact he had made in his years as a Senator representing Kwara South “Sen. Rafiu was a man of an impeccable pedigree, class, intellect, distinction and of course, great wit. As he makes his way to the bosom of the Almighty God, I am consoled by the fact that he has left indelible imprints of excellence within and beyond his constituency, and I pray that he shall have eternal rest and peace.”

“My deepest sympathies are with everyone affected by the death of the late Senator: his family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers. May Almighty Allah give all of us who mourn Sen. Rafiu the fortitude to bear the loss occasioned by his death,” he concluded.
