Commendations as 10 beneficiaries of N50,000 Oyinbo Farmer start-up emerges at grand finale in Omu-Aran

It was an atmosphere of commendations at the grand finale of the much talked about Oyinbo Farmer 2024 training scheme in Omu-Aran on Saturday as 10 beneficiaries of the N50,000 start-up capital emerged.

The beneficiaries were picked through a raffle draw after a branding session of the training scheme wholy sponsored by the President of BTA Foundation, Barrister Titilope Akogun.

The highly excited beneficiaries that cut across the Federal Constituency were seen hauling praises and commendations on Barrister Akogun and the Foundation for the opportunity to be part of the training and also as beneficiaries of the start-up capital.

Miss Adeniyi Mutiat, a beneficiary of the start-up capital, described Barrister Akogun as a role model, a blessing and worthy ambassador of the Constituency.

“Barrister Titilope Akogun has done it again. I can only pray to God to give him more powers, strength and financial wherewithal to continue in his developmental efforts.

“He has been there come rain, come shine and not relenting. God will surely reward him for his generousity and impact on the people,” she said..

Mr Awotayo Olalekan, also a trainee and beneficiary of the start-up, described the training and the provision of start-up as unprecedented, timely and highly beneficial.

“This is huge going by the situation in the country. I can say without any fear of contradiction that the 1 week training is timely, impactful and an eye-opener.

“Other individuals or groups should emulate and copy Barrister Akogun and the foundation in bailing out our people from the shackles of hunger and poverty,” he said.

Earlier, Mr Abdulrahman Alawaye, a branding expert from Ilorin, had painstakingly tutored the trainees on the A to Z and basic rudiments of online market branding and promotions.

He emphasised the need for effective branding and packaging of products and services in order to attract wider markets and income.

Alawaye also advised the trainees to ensure the registration of their businesses with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) before embarking on branding of products and services.

This, he said, was to guide against rejection of business name by the commission due to duplication after spending a lot of funds on branding

He advised the trainees to be focused, determined and committed in order to achieve the desired results as online businessmen and women, especially on agricultural related products and services.

Mr Odewale Michael, also a trainee, took turn to fully review and update the memories of the participants on the online training earlier received from the designated platform in the last one week.

Tagged: “Oyinbo Farmer 2024” the comprehensive online training towards training 101 participants in food export, started some weeks ago with online registration and the commencement of training with highly exposed, knowledgeable and experienced resource persons taking turns to impact new business ideas on the trainees.

From its inception, the Oyinbo Farmer program has been a hope for aspiring agribusiness entrepreneurs. Under the expert guidance of Tosin Odede, the scheme kicked off with an enlightening session on WhatsApp marketing, unveiling the platform’s untapped potential for business growth. This eye-opening start set the tone for a series of invaluable training sessions that followed.

Participants were treated to a deep dive into the world of Irresistible Offers in Sales Marketing, equipping them with strategies to stand out in a competitive market.

The program then shifted focus to the lucrative realm of exports, led by Mr. Adeyemi Josiah, using food items as practical case studies. Beneficiaries gained crucial insights into documentation processes, sourcing techniques, contract negotiations, building a client base, and securing funding for export ventures.

The training didn’t stop there. It expanded to cover the intricacies of selling foodstuffs within Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of packaging and creating irresistible sales pitches. In a move to intellectually empower even those without start-up capital, the program introduced the concept of shippdropping.

Additionally, participants learnt about supplying maize and soybeans to companies in Nigeria, acting as personal shoppers for international clients, and leveraging various platforms to sell food items both locally and abroad.

As the program drew to a close, the final session on branding in Omu Aran not only lived up to the expectations of the trainee, but also afforded them the opportunity to interact and relate with other potential online business partners.

As citizens struggles to contain the economic hardship being experienced across the country, the impact of this initiative is bound to make the desired difference in the lives of the trainees for them to be self sufficient and reliance.
