Amofin Akogun mourns late Chief Imam of Iwo land, Sheikh Abdulsalam Abdulfatah

Amofin Titilope Akogun has joined numerous sympathisers in mourning the death of the Chief Imam of Iwo Land and Chairman Isin Local Government Council of Chief Imams, Late Sheikh Abdulsalam Abdulfatah whose death occured in the early hours of Sunday July 21.

Amofin Akogun in his condolence message on Sunday said the late Islamic scholar lived a righteous, pious, worthy and exemplary life, saying his legacies and landmarks would remain indelible for a very long time.

The President Barrister Titilope Foundation (BTA) who described the death of late Abdulfatah as a rude shock, said it occured when his wealth of experience, wisdom, advises and spiritual guidance were mostly needed by his immediate community and beyond.

Amofin Akogun, while extending his condolences to his family, Iwo Muslim community, the people of Kwara South and the state at large over the late Chief Imam demise, said it came with the consolation that he fostered peace, unity and understand among the people while his sojourn lasted.

“We share in the grief and trying period of the people of Iwo Isin, especially the Muslim community over the loss of our remarkable Islamic scholar whose life remained a rallying and reference point to both the old and young.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, the people of Kwara South and the state over this unfortunate incident.

“We prayed to Almighty Allah to accept his return, forgive his shortcomings and grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Amofin Akogun said.
