BTA Foundation Celebrates Amofin Akogun On Birthday

The Media Team of the BTA Foundation has joined friends, family, beneficiaries, and well-wishers in extending their warm congratulations to Barrister Titilope Akogun on the occasion of his birthday.

A statement by the Press Secretary of the Foundation, Aliu Ahmad Gold, extolled Amofin Akogun for his interventions and support for evolving startups, young entrepreneurs, and market women, describing him as one of the philanthropists who have breathed life into businesses and giving hope to common men.

The statement reads: “We, the Media Team celebrate you and all that you have accomplished in your career, and as the Chairman/President of the BTA Foundation. You proved beyond doubt that your leadership acumen is worth learning from.

“Your example as a servant-leader is worthy of emulation for anyone who intends to have a significant impact in leadership and representation. Our beloved constituency and state need more of your type in the corridors of power as this will hasten the rebirth of the country our past heroes laboured for.

“We wish for you, today and always, grace, wisdom, discernment, long life, and trans-generational leadership impact. May your example become a good reference point for capacity building and national development,” the statement concluded.

Amofin Akogun through the BTA Foundation has embarked on different projects for human capital and community development, which include the Mechanized Agricultural Revolution Project (MARP); a project that provided farmers with inputs, equipment, training, and access to markets, to boost their productivity and income.

He was also notable for the Igi Iwe intervention (Education Tree); an intervention focused on enhancing the quality of education for students in 14 schools across different communities. The intervention donated educational materials such as books, bags, uniforms, and stationery to the students, and also awarded scholarships to 52 bright pupils in elementary schools, to support their academic pursuits.

Amofin Akogun, in his philanthropic efforts, also embarked on interventions to alleviate the food insecurity and hunger faced by many vulnerable people in society, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he distributed food items such as rice, beans, garlic, oil, and salt to over 1000 households in need.

Not resting in his oars, the Legal practitioner has also drilled boreholes, installed water tanks and pipes, and repaired existing water facilities in selected locations across Kwara South Senatorial District, while also constructing and repairing roads, culverts, and drainages in strategic areas, to facilitate smooth transportation and drainage of rainwater.

Amofin Akogun has become a household name in various rural communities and major towns across Kwara South, after organizing several pieces of training on entrepreneurship, digital literacy, leadership, communication, and other relevant topics for youths and empowering over 200 market women in different communities with financial and material support for their businesses, with the provision of interest-free loans, grants, equipment and mentoring, to help them grow their businesses and income.

Therefore, as Amofin Akogun marks this birthday, we wish him many more prosperous years in his storied endeavors in Kwara, Nigeria, Africa, and the world.
